They say that if your dog is disobedient or you need to teach him some tricks, using shock collars can achieve that effect through some sort of positive punishment. I do feel a little uncomfortable thinking of my dog fidgeting from all that electrical impulses and what happens if it barks even more as a result of nerve damage and irritation. I have been told that there are different types of anti bark dog collars as well, some which emit some sort of spray from the collar, while the common ones are the shock collars which can perhaps be used to treat dogs from barking too much, which might seem ideal in my case to stop my dog from barking and disturbing everyone's peace at night.
I would really wonder if I can find out more about dog shock collars and if they are really useful in solving my issue here. I never imagined when I had a dog, I would have to look for a solution that would solve everyone's problem of having a peaceful rest at night. I even tried using ear plugs that would not require me to stop my dog from barking excessively at night, but my gosh, Patches can really holler and if anything, perhaps using dog shock collars would really be the best idea for a pet that seems to be getting out of control. I wonder if they will really hurt Patches though, and I certainly do not want my dog to make regular trips to the clinic just because I was trying to train it to be obedient and let the neighbourhood sleep soundly. Would a dog suffer from burns due to shock collars? It is another worrying question I ask myself and others.
